I guess if you're born a blonde you never grow out of it
Ok, so in my last post I mentioned our new server. Well, over the weekend it went "live" and the old server was set to read-only. Before I left on Friday I sent out an email telling everyone it was urgent they run the attached script or things wouldn't work. I told them if they came to me Monday morning to say things didn't work I was going to point at them & laugh. They can all point at me & laugh now b/c the script I sent out had the old server name in it, not the new one. :-( D'oh!
I'd like to say to all of you who told me I'm creative: you're my inspiration. When I started reading all those nice things, it made me think on how to make some of my garb better. I had bought a corset/bodice pattern & made it out of black satin fabric.
I made the one with the straps.
The pattern is supposed to be made with a ton of hooks & eyes down the front. I thought, "that's gonna be a pain in the *ss - there's gotta be a better way". So I bought this trim:
I sewed it down the front, thinking I could lace ribbon thru it. Wrong - it was just as much of a pain in the butt. Here's where I started putting my creativity to use. I wondered what else I could use. Small D-rings! Really small ones, held on with ribbon. Kind of like boot lacings. I had to make a trip to Hobby Lobby for something else, and looked around for D-rings. Couldn't find any small enough. So wandering around I spied these:
... and a light bulb went off! So...I took off the trim and used it to attach the hearts. I also tacked the hearts down in the spiral areas. And here I am modelling it!
I'm really happy with how it looks, and how quickly I can lace it now!
That's it for now...too much to do, not enough time...well, you know!
